Guidelines for Uploading files to physioSHARE
If you are the author : By uploading files onto this site you are agreeing to make your work freely available under the terms of the creative commons copyright agreement. Familiarise yourself with this agreement. In essence, by uploading your work you are allowing others to download, use and modify it. However you will always be acknowledged for your work.
If you are not the author: Please respect the authors decision with all copyright guidelines of his/her material. (If material is not uploaded by the origional author then it cannot be assumed to fall under the creative commons copyright agreement.)
-
Try not to load just `anything`. Think about your content and its potential usefulness to other therapists. Chances are that if you don`t currently use the information in practice then neither will they.
-
Files will be rated by your colleagues. Information that becomes outdated or gets consistently low ratings will be reviewed and may be deleted from the database.
-
Ideally, the work you upload should be your own work. However there are some excellent public information articles and initiatives that may be useful to share. Remember to gain permission from the author before you upload. Often a simple email may suffice to ask permission.
-
Images - this is a difficult one. Unless you took the photograph you have to be very careful about what images you supply. Always reference the image and seek permission where appropiate. Read the fine print about reproduction of images from articles as they will normally state what their permissions are. Remember subscription journals normally will not allow you to `cut` their images and use elsewhere. Always check.
-
For all patient advice sheets (this includes any information that potentially will be given out to patients but excludes pre-printed hospital/general public information)) we encourage that your name, profession/position and hours spent researching the article are also included in the article so that you are recognised for your work. Remember that these handouts may be used by patients anywhere in the world. Individual business logos or hospital logos may not be appropiate to have on these documents. If you want to put the physioshare logo on your work then please feel free to download the physioSHARE template here. See an example patient handout sheet with the header, footer and author added.
